3.2 Basic Concepts

RAYGUIDE is implemented with the idea of an easy reusability of its functionalities for developers. Other applications expose their methods e. g. via Microsoft's Component Object Model (COM) which tends to be complicated and not easy to understand. Our approach is to provide the developer with an Application Programming Interface (API) which is also used by the RAYGUIDE GUI. In this way it is guaranteed that the API fulfills the needs of developers, is thoroughly tested, efficient and robust.
