11.1 Marking On-The-Fly

Marking-On-The-Fly (MOTF, a.k.a. Target Tracking) makes it possible to carry out marking operations on moving targets by tracking them with the scanner as they pass through the Marking Field.

The canonical application example for MOTF is marking serial numbers on parts as they are carried past the scanner on a conveyor belt.

We make use of exactly this paradigm in the following discussion of MOTF, as implemented on the SP-ICE-3 Card.
