8.1 Position Data Flow

The SP-ICE-3 Card receives vector commands, generally from its client application, containing co-ordinates which specify nominal marking field positions in real world units.

To effect movement of the laser beam to these nominal positions, the card applies various transforms[Note 1], and in some cases additional data, to convert them into the corresponding scanner positions.
