4.3 IPG-compatible Adapter |
Laser models from various manufacturers are currently known to be compatible with the IPG-compatible Adapter.
IPG Interfaces B, C, D, E, G, EG, YLP-HP-B
JPT Laser
Max Photonics
Nufern Laser
Quantel
Raycus
SpectraPhysics VGEN Series
The IPG-compatible Adapter is delivered with one ribbon cable, which should be used to connect the adapter to the card as follows:
IPG-compatible Adapter | SP-ICE-3 Card | Notes | ||

J3 |
|
The Interlock switch connected to J2 pulls pin 23 of J1 to 5V (VIO).
When the interlock loop is open, the pull-down resistor disables the laser.
The interlock state can be observed in the SPI register bits 12 and 13.
When the interlock loop is open, LED D10 on the slot bracket blinks yellow with a one second period.
LED | Colour | State | Description |
---|---|---|---|
D8 | Blue | ON | The IPG-compatible Adapter has its VIO voltage enabled.
|
D9 | White | ON | The Emission_Enable signal is driven active. |
D10 | Yellow | BLINKING ON | The interlock loop (J2) is open (regardless of any alarm signals). The interlock loop (J2) is closed, but the laser reports an alarm (including System alarm, if applicable). |
D11 | Red | ON | The laser reports a System Alarm.
|
LED | Colour | State | Description |
---|---|---|---|
D1 | Green | ON |
The overall status indicator. |
D2 | Yellow | ON | Alarm1 (J1 Pin 16) signal is high. |
D3 | Yellow | ON | Alarm2 (J1 Pin 21) signal is high. |
D4 | Yellow | ON | Alarm3 (J1 Pin 11) signal is high. |
D5 | Yellow | ON | Alarm4 (J1 Pin 12) signal is high. |
D6 | Yellow | ON | Back_Alarm (J1 Pin 23) signal is high. |
D7 | Yellow | ON | Sync_Alarm signal (J1 Pin 15) is high. |
The IPG-compatible Adapter supports numerous IPG-compatible lasers.
These lasers differ mainly by which pins on connector J1 are alarm signals and whether these alarm signals are high- or low-active.
The appropriate settings for a specific laser can be selected via DIP switch S1
