4.3.4.5 Legacy DIP-Switch and Jumper Configuration (deprecated)

The IPG-compatible Adapter hardware can be configured for any one of several similar laser types by means of jumpers W1..W6 and DIP-switch S1.

Jumpers W1..W6

The jumpers are used to select input and output functions of the configurable pins on Connector J1.

DIP-switch S1

Various combinations of S1.1-4 are used to select:

the specific laser type;
the polarity of the input alarm signals;
whether the 5V 500mA output on J1 pin 17 is enabled;

either of two major adapter modes:

4.3.5.1 Universal Mode (deprecated).

The output Alarm signal (J3 pin 26) to the SP-ICE-3 Card will be activated whenever at least one of the input alarms is active.

4.3.5.2 Super Mode (deprecated).

The output Alarm signal (J3 pin 26) to the SP-ICE-3 Card will be activated whenever any of the set of specified patterns of active alarm inputs is recognised.

Note
Super Mode (and YLP-HP-B Mode) are only available on adapter hardware version R2 001 V2 or later.
