17.4 How to reset the card's Network settings without network access |
From the SP-ICE-3 Card's Web-Interface it is possible to change certain critical Network Settings:
assign a static IPv4 address in place of the default dynamically assigned (DHCP) address;
disable the UPnP feature that allows automatic discovery of the card;
change the password for the Web-Interface itself.
Important |
---|
It is important to keep a separate record of the new values of any settings which you do change, since it may otherwise become impossible to access the card and its Web-Interface. Nevertheless, if this should happen, the factory default values for the Network Settings can be restored by the following method. |
Make sure that the SP-ICE-3 Card is switched OFF.
Remove the micro-SD card from the SP-ICE-3 Card.
Please refer to 3 Hardware Description for the location of the micro-SD card.
Either insert the micro-SD card into your PC directly (if the PC has a suitable slot), or into a USB CardReader which is connected to the PC.
Once the PC has recognised the micro-SD card, a new drive called "UBOOT" should appear.
Create a new, empty file in the root directory of this drive, with the following filename:
"resetnetwork"
All lower-case letters, without quotes, and without a filename-extension.
NB: this method resets only the Network Settings: the card's configuration is otherwise unaffected.
Remove the micro-SD card from the PC or Cardreader.
Put the micro-SD card back into the SP-ICE-3 Card, and power it on again.
After the SP-ICE-3 Card has booted successfully, all network settings should have their factory default values.
The file "resetnetwork" will be erased automatically.
